Asoke, Sukhumvit — Bangkok’s quiet heart

Asoke is where Bangkok slows down without losing its pulse. It is the crossroads of Sukhumvit — where the BTS Skytrain meets the MRT metro — yet step onto the side streets and you find leafy sois, a great city park, and a neighbourhood people actually live in. It is the reason we opened hannah house here, on quiet Soi Sukhumvit 10.

Getting around

Few addresses in Bangkok are better connected. BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit sit almost on top of each other, a five-minute walk away, putting the whole city within reach — Siam’s shopping in ten minutes, the river and Old Town a straightforward ride, and Suvarnabhumi Airport thirty to forty minutes by taxi or Airport Rail Link. You rarely need a car.

Benjakitti Park

The neighbourhood’s quiet luxury is Benjakitti — a vast lake-and-forest park with an elevated walkway that winds through the treetops. It is where locals run at dawn and families stroll at dusk, two minutes from our door. For a stay with children, it is hard to beat.

Eating & drinking

Asoke feeds every mood. Terminal 21’s food court is a cheap, brilliant introduction to Thai dishes from every region; the sois around Sukhumvit 10 and 12 hide everything from morning boat noodles to late-night som tam. Walk toward Phrom Phong for cafés, or Nana for the city’s most international tables. With a full kitchen at hannah house, many guests happily cook in — the markets are close.

Shopping & essentials

Terminal 21, with its playful city-themed floors, is a six-minute walk and covers everything from fashion to a supermarket. Pharmacies, convenience stores and laundry are all on the doorstep, and Asoke is home to two of Bangkok’s leading hospitals, Bumrungrad and Samitivej — which makes it a natural base for longer or medical-related stays.

Who Asoke suits

Families who want space and a park; groups who would rather share a home than split across hotel rooms; longer-stay visitors who need fast Wi-Fi and a calm base that is still connected to everything. That is exactly who hannah house was made for — three bedrooms, room for eight, and the quiet side of Sukhumvit just outside.
